As the first suspension manufacturer for the aftermarket, KW automotive has developed a coilover kit with parts certificate for the new Toyota GR Supra (A90). With the KW variant 3, the lateral dynamics of the Japanese sports coupe sportier, without sacrificing the ride comfort in everyday life. On wavy asphalt surfaces, the KW suspension dampens harmoniously and prevents restless driving. Occurring pitching and rolling movements of the body structure are markedly reduced. Thanks to the multi-valve technology of the coilover suspension, which can be adjusted with twelve clicks in the compression and 16 clicks in the rebound, the new Supra gains a driving dynamics advantage. In addition, the available KW KW variant 3 from 1,999 euros allows a stepless lowering of up to 40 millimeters.

With a weight distribution of nearly 50:50, rear-wheel drive and a 340 hp three-liter turbocharged six-cylinder, the new Toyota GR Supra (JTSC) is a worthy successor to the legendary Toyota Supra Mk4. For fans of Japanese sports cars, the long wait has been worthwhile. As soon as the Supra is available in Germany, suspension manufacturer KW automotive can already offer a coil-over suspension with parts certificate. "Despite the low center of gravity of the GR Supra", says KW product manager Johannes Wacker, "our KW coilover suspension variant 3 permits stepless lowering of 15-35 millimeters and on the drive axle of 20-40 millimeters as part of the part inspection on the front axle. "

Intelligent multi-valve technology for sporty driving pleasure in everyday life

The KW coilovers provide a significant performance gain and are appreciated by automotive enthusiasts worldwide. "This is mainly due to our multi-valve technology used in the dampers with pre-configured high-speed valves and adjustable low-speed valves for the compression and rebound forces," says KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. "As a result, we achieve as tight as necessary and as comfortable as possible driving behavior." The basis of this damper technology comes from motorsport. For example, at the Nürburgring 24h race in 2019, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team also used its KW in its Supra in the compression and rebound separately adjustable KW Motorsportdämpfer. The factory pre-configured high-speed valves allow a harmonious suspension even with a tight set damper setup. Even with a maximum lowering and fast driving over transverse joints or bumps, these high-speed valves open in a flash. Thus, the coupe does not offset at transverse grooves on highway bridges and remains safely manageable in the dynamic range of the border. "With adjustable dampers, it's possible to further tune our original and recommended chassis tuning for everyday use to the personal driving experience." With 16 clicks, the cross-section in the low-speed rebound valve can be reduced or enlarged to exactly match the damping adjust. When the rebound is opened, ride comfort increases. When they are closed, the pitching and rolling movements of the body structure are significantly reduced and the handling becomes even more dynamic. "Simply stated, the job of the rebound stage is to tie the bodywork to the road, while the rebound pressure affects the compression and supports the chassis," says KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. In addition, the adjustable low-speed compression can be closed or opened with twelve clicks, in order to further influence the steering behavior and grip level of the tires.

The recommended retail price for the KW coilover Variant 3 for the new Toyota GR Supra (JTSC) is € 1,999.
